Unlocking Livestock-Backed Credit with AI “Artificial Intelligence”

For decades, livestock farmers across Africa have struggled with access to finance, despite owning valuable assets. Traditional financial institutions view livestock as unverified and high-risk, leaving millions of farmers locked out of credit, insurance, and financial inclusion.

But what if livestock could be recognized as a verifiable financial asset?

Imfuyo and Neotex are working together to push the Halisi product, a Neotex-powered platform that transforms how livestock is identified, valued, and financed. For nearly two years, Imfuyo has contributed its expertise in livestock identification, data, and finance — ensuring that Halisi is not just a technological solution but one that works in real-world agricultural finance.

At the core of Halisi is Biometrics as a Service (B-A-A-S) — a system that scans both the farmer (KYC — Know Your Customer) and their livestock (KYL — Know Your Livestock) using AI-driven facial recognition technology. This allows farmers to build a financial identity tied to their livestock, creating a bridge between agriculture and financial services.

From Concept to Proven Success: The Pilots in Kenya

Through pilot projects with 150+ enrolled cows and 50+ farmers, we have successfully demonstrated that: ✅ Livestock can serve as collateral through verifiable biometric data. ✅ Farmers can access tailored financial solutions, such as loans and insurance, without traditional land-based collateral. ✅ Financial risk can be significantly reduced through AI-powered credit scoring models that assess both farmer behavior and livestock health.

Why This Matters: Financial Inclusion Meets Food Security

By combining AI, biometrics, and livestock finance, we are not just improving access to credit — we are enabling farmers to: 🔹 Increase milk production through better financing for feeds and animal health. 🔹 Access insurance, ensuring resilience against droughts and disease. 🔹 Receive financial literacy training, empowering better financial decisions.

What’s Next? Partnering to Scale Impact

The success of Halisi is only the beginning. To scale this transformation, we are actively seeking partnerships with: 🔹 Financial institutions & lenders looking to expand their agricultural portfolios. 🔹 Insurance companies ready to explore innovative livestock-based coverage. 🔹 Universities & research institutions to refine AI-driven risk models.

We invite forward-thinking partners to join us in redefining livestock as a bankable asset — helping farmers grow, reducing financial risk, and securing Africa’s food future.
